Volunteer Opportunities
Only three hours a week can change someone’s life!
We are always welcoming new volunteers to support adult learners in Erie, Clarion, Crawford, Forest, Venango, and Warren Counties. Our volunteers work alongside our certified classroom instructors to provide one-to-one and/or small-group instruction in language arts, math, and/or English as a Second Language (ESL). Prior teaching experience is not necessary, nor is speaking a foreign language to work with English language learners.
Training and materials are free, and the hours are tailored to fit your schedule! You will receive support from certified instructors in the classroom, a volunteer coordinator, and multiple opportunities for professional development.
Our volunteer program is a great opportunity to meet people with diverse backgrounds and to enhance your own personal and professional growth. All you need is a desire to help others improve their lives, the lives of their families, and the community as a whole.
Becoming a volunteer is simple, however there are a few requirements:
- Minimum of 3 hours per week (about one class period)
- Attend training (online or face-to-face)
- Pass a background check
- TB Test
