PIMS

The Pennsylvania Information Management System (PIMS) is a collaborative initiative between the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and Local Education Agencies (LEAs) across the Commonwealth. PIMS is a comprehensive statewide data system designed to efficiently and accurately manage, analyze, disaggregate, and utilize individual student data for every student in Pennsylvania’s Pre-K through Grade 12 public education system.

Key Purposes of PIMS:

  • Compliance: Meet current PDE and federal reporting requirements.
  • Decision-Making: Enhance education decision-making with high-quality data and decision support tools.
  • Longitudinal Tracking: Provide longitudinal tracking of individual and subgroup education progress over time and across LEAs.
  • Reporting: Deliver timely and accurate education data through standardized and ad hoc reporting capabilities.
