ERIE AREA SCHOOL TO CAREER PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

 Mission Statement

The Erie Area School to Career Consortium will promote ongoing, effective use of school, business and community resources to prepare all students for career choice and career change.

 Who, What, and Where

The Erie Area School to Career Consortium consists of educators, business and community leaders, and students working together to promote career education in Erie county.  Participating local school districts include Corry, Erie City, Harbor Creek, Iroquois, Millcreek, Northwestern, Union City, and Wattsburg.  Programs and activities that the partnership helps to promote include:
  • Erie's Career Affect, March 9 & 16 (sophomores)
  • Juniors' Movin' On College Prep Magazine Series
  • Seniors' Day, May 6 (Chad Foster to Present)
  • Regional Career Nights - City and County
  • Educator in the Workplace Program (begins July 7, 2010)  
  • Guidance Libraries
  • Choices career guidance software in high schools
  • CareerCruising training for teachers & counselors
  • Participation in state-wide Integrated Learning Conference
  • Field trips to businesses & post-secondary schools
  • Promotion of ACES Business Week and PFEW
  • School entrepreneurial projects, mini-societies
  • Shadowing experiences, repetitive and single day
  • Internships, FAMS and Senior Projects
  • Career Portfolio Development
  • Maintenance of business volunteers database
  • Sharing of resources with other partners
  • Career Education and Work Standards Resource
  • Committee Involvement - Join Business or Marketing

 2010 Educator in the Workplace

The 2010 Educator in the Workplace Programs have been cancelled for this summer due to low enrollments.  Both the Act 48 Program and the 3 credit course will be offered again next year.
