The Programs Web site includes information and resources for IU5 English as a Second Language (ESL), General Equivalency Diploma (GED), and Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes for Adult Learning Opportunities in Erie, Corry, Edinboro, Albion, Girard, Union City, Warren, North East, and Fairview Pennsylvania.

The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit Adult Education Program provides ABE, GED, ESL and Workforce Preparation programming to adults in Erie, Warren and Venango counties. The three county region consists of several urban areas – the cities of Erie, Franklin, Oil City and Warren, and a number of smaller communities such as Albion, Corry, Girard, Harborcreek, Union City, Fairview and North East.

The program consists of:
GED classes: Classes are designed to prepare our students for the GED exam in the following subject areas: Math, Social Studies, Science, Reading and Writing.
Adult Basic Education: Classes are designed to meet each individual's skill level.
ESL: English as a Second Language classes are offered for the foreign speaking students. Included in these classes is instruction in Civics education.
Academic Assessment: GED Pre-testing and Reading and Math evaluations are offered at several locations, by appointment.
