Welcome to the Northwest Pennsylvania Tech Prep Consortium!

The Northwest Pennsylvania Tech Prep Consortium is a federally funded Perkins program that serves an 11 county region including Clarion, Crawford, Elk, Erie, Jefferson, Forest, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Venango, and Warren Counties.  The goal of the program is to prepare students for high priority occupations by enrolling them various Programs of Study at the Career and Technical School.  Students are encouraged to select a rigorous academic sequence of courses at their home school  (Algebra I & II, Geometry, Biology and Chemistry at a minimum) and couple this with a high tech program of study at the Career and Technical Center.   This Program of Study prepares all students for success in post-secondary education, should they choose to continue their studies beyond high school graduation.  Beginning this year, students who complete an approved Program of Study at the Technical School, will have the opportunity to receive articulated college credit at all Perkins Post-Secondary Institutions across the state!  You may access this information at www.collegetransfer.net.  The Tech Prep program is actively involved in curriculum development, promoting high academic standards, teacher and counselor training, promotion of career activities and transition assistance, student tracking, and program evaluation.  Over the past two years, CHANGE has been coming to our Career and Technical programs through the development of new Programs of Study.  All current programs will be going through a process of reviewing, revising, and implementing so that students are provided with rigorous, relevant programs that are in line with industry standards and prepare them for post-secondary success.  You may learn more about this new initiative by visiting the PA Bureau of Career and Technical Education.

To access the statewide articulations available on www.CollegeTransfer.net, select Equivalencies under SEARCH on the top menu bar.  Select PA Bureau of Career and Technical Education as "FROM" and then SUBMIT for a general search of all programs (you may customize your search by adding more criteria).
